Resistance Band Walk: how to do it

  1. Place a resistance band around your thighs, just above your knees. Ensure the band is snug but not overly tight.
  2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and slightly bend your knees into a half-squat position. Keep your back straight and core engaged.
  3. Step your right foot to the side, maintaining tension in the band. Follow with your left foot, bringing it back to shoulder-width distance.
  4. Continue stepping sideways for the desired number of steps or distance.
  5. Reverse the direction by stepping your left foot to the side, followed by your right foot, maintaining the same form.
  6. Keep your movements controlled and avoid letting the band snap back or your knees collapse inward during the exercise.

Common mistakes

A common mistake is letting the knees collapse inward, which reduces muscle engagement and may strain joints. Another issue is standing too tall—stay in a slight squat for optimal activation of the glutes.
